LIFEGUARD TRAINING (Ages 15 and up)
American Red Cross Lifeguard Training covers the fundamental skills required to become a lifeguard. All students must be 15 years of age by the last day of class and must pass a skills screening consisting of 300 yards continuous swim (front crawl and breaststroke) and surface dive into deep water to retrieve a 10-pound brick. CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid certifications are included in the course. Attendance is required at all sessions. Students must complete all course work and pass final written and practical skills tests to obtain Lifeguard Training Certificate.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Recertifcation
Challenge Format: The challenge course gives the individual the opportunity to demosntrate knoweldge and skill competency outside a formal classroom setting. Participants have sole responsibility for preparing for hte knowledge and skill evaluations. (The participant must possess a current ARC Lifeguard Training and First Aid certificate as well as current ARC CPRPR certificate.)

WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR (Ages 16 and up)
WSI candidates learn to teach all levels of American Red Cross swimming classes. Students must have Level IV swimming skills and be able to perform basic rescues. Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT) is included in the course.
