Winter Arts & Education Classes

To register for classes, please select one of the following.
- Download a Program_Registration_Form and fax or mail to the Center.
- Call the Customer Service Desk, at 703-993-8513, during Center operating hours.
- Plan a visit to the Center and register at the Customer Service Desk.
All Freedom Aquatic & Fitness Center programs require registration in advance.
Animal Adventures (Ages 2-5)
Call all animal lovers! Join us for story time, songs, games and crafts as we explore the animal kingdom. Each week, we’ll learn about a different group of animals — ocean life, farm animals, reptiles, zoo animals, pets and insects. Caregiver participation required.

Backyard Aventures (Ages 2-5)
Spring has sprung! Come and join us for stories, crafts and activities while we learn about gardens and all the creatures that live in them. Kids will love making buggy art projects and planting seeds for spring! Caregiver participation required.

Cooking – Kinder Chefs (Ages 5-8)
Children will enjoy creating and sampling a variety of easy to make recipes. Class will also practice measuring, following directions, table setting, manners, and listening skills while enjoying their favorite treats.

Fabulous Fridays (Ages 2-5)
Join us once a month for a themed class that includes a story, activities and crafts. Caregiver participation required.pants must be registered by Thursday 12pm before the event.
2/10 Valentine’s Day-Bring your little sweetheart to class for Valentine’s Day stories and activities. This holiday craft class is sure to fill your heart with love!
3/16 St. Patrick’s Day-Be sure to come dressed in green and be ready for an hour of fun crafts for your little ones . . . maybe even find that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!
4/20 Weather-April Showers Bring May Flowers, right? Come to class to hear stories about different types of weather and make crafts to go along with them.
5/11 Mother’s Day-Kids will love making beautiful projects to give to the special people in their lives — Moms, Grandmas or Aunts! All are welcome!
6/1 Father’s Day-Kids will love creating projects for the special people in their lives — Dads, Grandpas and Uncles! All are welcome!

Friday Night Fun Camp At Freedom! (Ages 5-12)
Parents take the opportunity to sit back and relax on the 1st Friday of every month. We provide a vareity of competitive games, upbeat activities, swimming and pizza for your child to enjoy. Please pack a bathing suit, towel and wear tennis shoes. Participants must be registered by Thursday 10pm before the event. There is no at the door registration!

Preschool Prep (born between Aug. 2008-Aug. 2009)
This class is an excellent program to help young children prepare for preschool. In a small classroom setting, children will engage in circle time activities, story time and complete crafts daily. We work on basic preschool readiness skills, such as letter, number, color and shape identification, as well as social skills like sharing and taking turns. Children must be able to separate from parent. Potty training not required.

Wonderful Wednesdays (Ages 2-5)
Join us each week for a new themed class that includes a story, activities and a craft. Children must be registered by 10:00pm the Monday before event. Caregiver participation is required.

2/29 Dr. Seuss Day-Dr. Seuss’ birthday is March 2nd and to celebrate we’ll be reading some of his favorite stories and making crafts to go along with them!
3/7 Dinosaurs-Calling all future paleontologists! Join us for din-size fun, stories, and activities as we explore the world of dinosaurs!
3/14 Pirates-Ahoy there! Bring your pirates to class for crafts and fun!
3/21 Transportation-Kids love learning about and playing with planes, trains and automobiles!
3/28 Spring Fever-Looking forward to the warmer weather? Join us for some spring stories and crafts to get you in the mood for spring!
4/11 Day at the Circus-Kids love clowns, circus animals and amazing stunts! Join us for fun, circus, themed crafts and activities!
4/18 Ocean Life-Come learn about the ocean and all the amazing animals that live there with books, arts and crafts!
4/25 Community Helpers-Join us for stories about heroes in our community and make fun crafts while your little ones decide what they want to be when they grow up.
5/2 An Un-Birthday Party-It may not be your birthday, but we always have a reason to celebrate. Join us for birthday party themed crafts and activities kids will love!
Winter Wonderland (Ages 2-5)
Keep warm this winter with us at the Freedom Center! Join us for stories, crafts and fun winter activities. Kids will get to “ice skate” and play with “snowballs” without having to bundle up or step foot into the snow. . . but you’ll have to be here to find out how! Caregiver participation required.
